If you’re like me, you struggle with mental health. Sometimes there are various aspects of my life that discourage me. Below are some Bible verses that give me hope and affirmation.
- Ps. 139:14) “I will praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well” ~ Even when I don’t feel like my body or mind measures up, even when I don’t feel like I am worthy or wonderful my Bible tells me that because of Jesus and the fact that He created me, no matter how I feel, I am fearfully and wonderfully made. In Jesus eyes, I am wonderful.
- Ps. 27:3 “Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident” (that the Lord will be my light). Oftentimes, I can feel overwhelmed by my anxiety. It can be overwhelming to think about what everyone thinks of me and wonder if I measure up. The fear of failure can seem crushing. This verse brings me back to reality. It isn’t me against the world. It is Jesus standing before me, between me and the world. He is my fortress and my hedge of protection.
- Zeph 3:17) “The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; He will save, He will rejoice over thee with joy; He will rest in His love, He will joy over thee with singing.” This is one of my favorites. No matter how I feel about myself, God is singing over me. I mean, if you’re singing over someone, you gotta love them. God must love me so much if He sings over me.
